July the 28th, 1859[?]

Mooresburg, Pulaski County, Indiana

My dearest friend, I now

take up my pen to write

you a few lines to let you

know that I have not

forgotten you. The time seems

long since I last saw you.

I fully expected to see you last

Sunday and felt very much

disappointed at not seeing you.

I feel very bad and do not

expect to feel any better until

I do see you.

We are going to have a picnic

next Saturday, which is the 30th

of July, and you are especially

invited, as many as can come, and

I shall be very happy to see you

here. I am well at this time,

except for a very bad cold.
